We have been enjoying some warmer weather for a few days now, but today was one of the first days that truly felt like spring has arrived. It was the kind of Friday where students and teachers alike found it hard to focus on working hard inside when it was so warm and sunny outside. By the time three o’clock rolled around, everyone was anxious to pack up and zip out the door into the sunshine!
Teacher comments overheard as the dismissal bell rang…
- Take all those hats and gloves home! How do you even have that many hats here?
- Don’t forget your lunch boxes!
- You really don’t need to wear your winter coat anymore. You can unzip that and take it off.
- Don’t forget your lunch boxes!
- Whose homework is this on the floor?
- Are you getting picked up or walking home today? You need to go! Go!
- DON’T FORGET YOUR LUNCHBOXES! They will stink if you do!
- You left three times already and now you’re back. Go home!
- Have a good weekend! Here, take your lunchbox.
- WHOSE LUNCHBOX IS THIS?
- Yes, I do know why you can’t find your mom. We just got out. Give her a chance to park the car!
- Take that gray book in your mailbox home—it’s a free present from a dentist.
- Go home and play outside–run all that energy off in the sunshine! But not until you get home!
- Here, take all these lunch boxes and take them far away from me.
TGIF to all my teacher friends! Go run in the sun yourselves and enjoy your weekend!
Ha! I loved this. This is such a true depiction. I especially loved the one about the student who had left three times already. Hope all those lunch boxes are tucked somewhere special!

So many times to run in and out . . . so hard to be organized “the first time” and I am, of course, describing myself. I understand that the kids are overcome by the nice weather! ME, TOO!
Enjoy the nice weather!
