It is so interesting to watch kids settle back in after a week of Spring Break. Some of them walk around the room, touching things, making sure everything is as it should be. Some of them seem to see the whole room with fresh eyes, commenting on things that usually fade into the background.
One of my girls remarked, “You have too many books,” as her eyes traveled the room with a critical glare.
“You can never have too many books!” I answered cheerfully. “In fact, it is more likely that I don’t have enough!”
“That’s not you, Miss Schuitema!” shouted another boy. “That’s not you!”
Good. There’s no such thing as “too many books”.
